Whew its been a world wind of a month but we FINALLY made it through November and today is December 1st. Would you believe me if I told you I was all decorated by November 5th? Of course you would because I am crazy. Now would you believe me if I told you I COMPLETELY changed decor on November 18th…probably also yes but we will discuss that later.
My 2023 decor journey begins allllll the way back in late September. I went out decor hunting at a store called At Home and that’s when it got real. Check out this TikTok of a me in full Christmas glory.
Okay so after At Home got me for more money than I am willing to share, I went over to Walmart to find any and everything silver and sparkly for my two disco ball bedroom Christmas trees (come back for part 2 to see those). I decorated them and other than the massive amounts of glitter I am still finding, I am obsessed. Speaking of glitter I have never pissed off a cashier the way I did that day because of the aftermath of my purchase.

I can’t wait to show you what those trees, our vintage tree, and a special little addition tree we added this year all look like. For now, let’s revisit the fact that I have had two different (yet equally amazing) grand room tree setups this year. First I went with my traditional red, green, and gold velvet aesthetic that I have been adding to each year recently. This year I decided to add faux poinsettias to the tree and completely loved the look.

That was it, this was THE tree. It paired well with my floating shelves, Santa decor, and first real tablescape. I was happy and all was well…..until it wasn’t.

Most people are referring to a person, a monument, or a huge event such as the birth of a child when they reference “love at first sight”. I refer to it as the moment I laid eyes on a creator’s tree on Instagram. I believe she described her tree as her “bridal era” tree. I haven’t been a bride in 13 years (unless you count renewing my vows in Las Vegas earlier in the year), but when I saw that tree, her tree, THE TREE–I could only think of one thing; a beautiful chandelier and I needed one of my own.
So naturally I went back to At Home, and Target, and Walmart, and Hobby Lobby. I went ANYWHERE that might have ANYTHING I could use to create my chandelier tree, and the findings did NOT disappoint.

I can’t believe she’s mine and since this photo was taken, I have added at least 30 more crystals and they all glimmer and dance as the lights reflect off them every evening. I have so much more decor to share and discuss with you, but for now, I will leave you with the most beautiful Christmas tree I’ve ever decorated. Come back for part 2!
