THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS- SPRING EDITION

As you will learn, I will use any excuse to incorporate my love for Christmas into this blog. I want to introduce this segment to you where I share tips, tricks, and things that I can’t seem to get enough of. Today (as I am writing this) is the first day of Spring so naturally, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to transition your house from the winter blues into the full bloom of Spring.

1. Buy something new

Yes, I know I am a bad influence but hear me out. I find it much easier to complete a task when I have something to look forward to. So when I need to clean a space or organize, I like to pick up a new cleaner or some new organization bins to help me prepare for the job. This weekend I was able to find this new Mrs. Meyer’s Lilac trio at Sam’s Club. The scent is floral but not overpowering and comes with dish soap, hand soap, and multi-surface spray.

2. Have a plan and stick to it

This year I moved all my planning from paper to digital and I am loving it. I use the GoodNotes app on my phone and iPad to plan how and when I will clean the different zones of my home. I have created a Spring-Cleaning Checklist for you here. Please feel free to print and use it to refresh your home as well.

3. Make a playlist

I grew up in a household where two things were promised every Saturday morning. 1- we were cleaning and 2- we were jamming while doing so. To this day, I will go to my music app and turn on whatever music I am feeling at the time. I honestly feel like I clean better when my music is playing. One of my favorite playlists is Saturday Morning Clean on the Spotify app. Feel free to check it out here.

4. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day….

….And neither is your Spring Cleaning routine. This year I chose to Spring clean over the span of a month. This allowed me to give attention to every area of my home without becoming overwhelmed. After you’ve taken the time to deep clean your space, it becomes easy to refresh the area as needed throughout the month.

5. Make it smell and look good

I am convinced that whoever was the first person to light a candle after cleaning has a golden seat reserved in Heaven. Lighting a candle after cleaning is one of my favorite ways to reward myself and my house after a day of cleaning and organizing. My FAVORITE candle company is Antique Candle Co. I have been using their candles for around 3 years now and I love the quality of the product and the customer service from their team. I am also a fan of using fresh flowers as décor and another fun reward for your freshly cleaned home.

  1. Great tips! Also, YES! A reserved seat in heaven to the woman who lit the first candle after cleaning!! Love the blog and can’t wait to see what is in store.
